Mid Golden in appearance the wine shows complex notes of white stone fruit, mealy characters, burnt matchstick and creamy cedar oak.
The palate is tight and fresh with stone fruit and creamy flavours which is long and fleshy with a nutty oak finish. The wine will cellar beautifully over the next 10 to 15 years.
Winemaking Region: Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria. - Clone: P76,95 - Soil Type: Self mulching black vertosol derived from tertiary basalt. - Harvest Date: 16/03/15. - Yield: 3.6kg/vine, 3.6tn/acre 9.0tn/ha, 63 hl/ha. Post Bottling: 13.5% alc, 3.26 pH, 7.1g/l acid. - Oak Use: 15 months in 50% new and 50% 1 year old French barriques. Hand picked, whole bunch pressed with free run juice to barrel, medium solids retained in juice, wild fermentation then took place over 2 weeks. The yeast less were stirred monthly over the next 6 months while maturing in barrel. After 15 months the wine was blended, fined filtered and bottled.
