We are very excited to be growing our special partnership with RSPCA Victoria by participating in the Geelong and Albert Park Million Paws Walk events this Sunday the 15th of May.
Relax with a glass of wine in our wine bars after the big event, and make your drink count! A portion of each glass of wine sold at the Geelong and Albert Park events will be donated back to the RSPCA, and we’ll also be offering free wine tastings at each event. We hope you see you and your furry friends there.

Vintage is well and truly underway here at Scotchmans Hill, and the winery is buzzing with action. The 2016 vintage got off to a prompt start this year - almost ten days shy of last year’s start date - making it the earliest vintage Chief Winemaker Robin Brockett has seen in his 28 years at Scotchmans. According to Robin, this is due to the consistently warm temperatures we have seen this summer.
2016 is shaping up to be an exceptional vintage at Scotchmans, and the grapes are looking very healthy, balanced, and well protected by canopy. Once again it will be a year of brilliant Shiraz for us, and interestingly, one particular block of Shiraz was ready for harvest before the first Pinot Noir grapes of the season.
This week saw the sparkling base complete, the Sauvignon Blanc picked, as well as a few blocks of Pinot Noir. The coming weeks will see the rest of the Pinot Noir and our Chardonnay and Shiraz grapes ready for harvest. At the speed ripeness is progressing, all grapes will be harvested by Easter and the team in the vineyard may get to enjoy an Easter break along with you!
We are very excited to be participating in the upcoming Geelong Heritage Wine Walk on Saturday 13th of February. Gather your friends and enjoy a day meandering through Geelong’s historical buildings while tasting some of the finest local wines with perfectly matched canapes at each venue. We’ll be ready and waiting with refreshments at Customs House with Austins & Co.
Catch up on a great article in this week's edition of the Geelong Weekly Review, with Robin discussing the evolution of Bellarine Peninsula Shiraz and Geelong's 'world class' wines. Thank you to The Weekly Review Greater Geelong for the great write up.
Spring is well and truly underway and it is time to set our mind to summer and all the fantastic opportunities to socialise and celebrate Christmas and the end of another exciting year. Of course, for the season ahead we reach for sparkling and fresh aromatic wines - perfect for inviting summer days and warm nights. If you are like us, you like to ensure your guests are served great food as well as wines from Scotchmans Hill. This year consider some interesting local and imported cheese.
Cheese comes in all styles and forms so it comes down to the type of cheese you select to partner your wines. Sparkling and aromatic styles of wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio match best with softer styles of cheese such as Brie de Nangis or Delice de Cremiers. For great cheese matches we suggest you check out Milk the Cow who have cheese to match every wine and occasion.
