2018 Halliday Wine Companion Results
The wines have been tasted, and the results are in!
James Halliday and his team clock up hundreds of hours in the tasting room to bring us their definite guide of wine insights on nearly 10,000 Australian wines from 1237 wineries around Australia.
We’re also thrilled to have retained our highly coveted Five Red Stars, Red Name Winery rating, and Top 100 Winery which ranks us among the top wineries in Australia. This year 13 of our wines scored 94 points or over, and four of those were acknowledged as exceptional value.
A huge congratulations to Robin Brockett, Marcus Holt, Peter Armstrong and our extended winemaking and vineyard team on a fantastic result!
Amongst our successes we are also proud of the points allotted to Scotchmans Hill's Jack and Jill, exclusive on-premise range. With the Pinot Noir and Shiraz scoring 95 points and the Sauvignon Blanc & Chardonnay scoring 94 points.
Not all of the wines above wines have been released,
the list below provides a list of all current vintages and associated Halliday Points.

Barrel Hall Wine Sale - Queens Birthday Long Weekend
SCOTCHMANS HILL BARREL HALL WINE SALE
SATURDAY 10 & SUNDAY 11 JUNE
10AM – 5PM
One of the benefits of living in a region with such beautiful vineyards and wineries is definitely the access to special events and promotions - especially those times when the winemaker decides it’s time to clear-out the warehouse.
We are opening up the doors to our winery cellar / barrel hall for another special wine sale on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th June. We will have some fantastic back-vintage specials, vintage ends, and unlabelled cases at clearance prices – all to make room for the delicious new vintage wines the winemaking team are working on.
Some of the wines also included will be an award winning Shiraz, a few varietals from ‘over the ditch’ as well as a range of delicious Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Sangiovese and Sauvignon Blanc. Most wines will be available to taste so get in early to get the pick of your favourites.
Our Barrel Hall Sale is a great opportunity to stock up the cellar for winter. While we’re not too enthusiastic about the inevitable chill, the prospect of winter doesn’t seem so bad if you picture yourself in your favourite chair by the fire with a warming glass of wine.
Visitors can follow the wine barrels and wine tanks through the confines of the winery to the barrel hall room - a great space nestled in among the wine barrels and surrounded by the smell of French Oak, and a grassy area with a view of the vineyard to boot.
We will also have a selection of retired wine barrels available for sale - both full sized and halves - on the day. It’s first in best dressed for the wine barrels, so be sure to get in early.
Scotchmans Hill Winery: 190 Scotchmans Road, Drysdale Victoria 3222
Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June, 10am - 5pm

Hannah’s work has received much admiration and has been widely acquired. Hannah says that her art has always paid homage to the rugged yet relaxed atmosphere of the Victorian coastline, and her travel through Portugal and Spain has evolved these elements further.
The exhibition is being hosted by Fitzroy furniture and design store Modern Times, one of Melbourne’s favourite furniture and design stockists.
Guests will be invited to enjoy our Jack & Jill wines at the Exhibition whilst they admire Hannah’s artwork.
