It’s no secret that we are passionate about cool, maritime climate Shiraz - and we are very excited for the upcoming second annual Winter Shiraz Weekend on July 2 & 3.
This year we are opening the doors to our impressive Barrel Hall area - a great space nestled in among the wine barrels and surrounded by the smell of French Oak. Visitors can follow the wine barrels and wine tanks through the confines of the winery to the barrel hall room.
Start your weekend in style by sampling your way through 10 years of Scotchmans Hill Shiraz in our one-off Masterclass event – and then continue the celebrations with some tasty food and live music.
Food van La Revolucion will be serving up the very latest in authentic Latin fusion, and we’ll also be pairing our Shiraz with Jazz, with music by local outfit Jazz Connection.

One of the benefits of living in a region with such beautiful vineyards and wineries would have to be the access to special events and promotions - and those times when the winemaker decides he needs some room, has a spring (our autumn) clean and opens up the doors to the winery cellar or barrel hall for a special sale!
Such a sale is happening in the Barrel Hall at Scotchmans Hill on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May. Get access to some fantastic back vintage specials, vintage ends, unlabelled bottles and cases at clearance prices – all to make room for the delicious new vintage wines our team are working on.
Some of the wines included will be award winning Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc, a few varietals from ‘over the ditch’ as well as a range of delicious Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Vintage Brut Sparkling, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Most wines will be available to taste so get in early to get the pick of your favourites.

We are very excited to be growing our special partnership with RSPCA Victoria by participating in the Geelong and Albert Park Million Paws Walk events this Sunday the 15th of May.
Relax with a glass of wine in our wine bars after the big event, and make your drink count! A portion of each glass of wine sold at the Geelong and Albert Park events will be donated back to the RSPCA, and we’ll also be offering free wine tastings at each event. Easter is creeping up ever so quickly, and weekend plans are being made and set in motion. If you’re spending quality time with family and friends on the (beautiful) Bellarine this Easter, we’ve got you covered. Our Cellar Door will be open for wine tastings and sales every day this long weekend.

Vintage is well and truly underway here at Scotchmans Hill, and the winery is buzzing with action. The 2016 vintage got off to a prompt start this year - almost ten days shy of last year’s start date - making it the earliest vintage Chief Winemaker Robin Brockett has seen in his 28 years at Scotchmans. According to Robin, this is due to the consistently warm temperatures we have seen this summer.
2016 is shaping up to be an exceptional vintage at Scotchmans, and the grapes are looking very healthy, balanced, and well protected by canopy. Once again it will be a year of brilliant Shiraz for us, and interestingly, one particular block of Shiraz was ready for harvest before the first Pinot Noir grapes of the season.
This week saw the sparkling base complete, the Sauvignon Blanc picked, as well as a few blocks of Pinot Noir. The coming weeks will see the rest of the Pinot Noir and our Chardonnay and Shiraz grapes ready for harvest. At the speed ripeness is progressing, all grapes will be harvested by Easter and the team in the vineyard may get to enjoy an Easter break along with you!
