Melbourne Food and Wine Festival Events
The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is an annual state-wide celebration of Victoria's food and wine industry. It attracts more than 250,000 attendees to a diverse program of over 200 events.
The festival started in 1993 and is now recognised as Australia's pre-eminent food and wine festival.
This year we are attending the opening weekend celebrations at River Graze City Cellar from Friday the 16th of March until Sunday the 18th of March on the banks of the Yarra. We will have a stall there for the full weekend, pouring our highly acclaimed Scotchmans Hill Chardonnay, recently rated 97 points by Halliday, as well as our new release Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc.
For 3 days, you can experience the best of Victoria's wine regions without leaving the city. It's a perfect opportunity to relax with friends over a glass or you can buy bottles to stock up your home cellar. There will be live music and food from Mount Zero Olives & Salt Kitchen Charcuterie, with deli offerings and a seafood bar by Left Bank Melbourne.
Tasting glasses will be $15ea and can be purchased at the event.
Friday 16th March 4pm - 9pm
Saturday 17th March 12pm - 9pm
Sunday 18th March 12pm - 8pm
Settle in amongst the elegant surrounds of The Westin Melbourne's Lobby Lounge as you indulge in three tiers of sweet and savoury delights, incorporating the finest, seasonal Victorian fare.
Paired with 3 glasses of our Scotchmans Hill wine, including Jack & Jill Sparkling Cuvee Brut.
The High Tea is available each day of the festival from the 16th of March - 25th, 11.00am - 4.00pm. Reservations are essential. Call The Westin Melbourne on 03 96352222 or click here to book.
(All guests who attend this special MFWF event during the festival dates will go into the draw to win a VIP winery experience for two with return ferry transfers to Scotchmans Hill on the Bellarine Peninsula with Port Phillip Ferries, a private wine tasting in the new Cellar Door, a lunch platter & bottle of wine!)
The third event on the program we are attending is in collaboration with the Exchange Hotel – Port Melbourne.
On Sunday the 18th March they are running a Bayside End of Summer Beach Picnic.
Enjoy a picnic basket on the sands of Port Melbourne Beach under their pop-up pavilion, paired with our 2017 Swan Bay Cuveé Brut.
Each gourmet hamper for two includes:
• Coronation Chicken Salad
• Ham Hock and Horseradish Pies
• Salmon and Cucumber Finger Sandwiches
• Scotch Egg and Dijon Aioli
• Leek and Potato Quiche
• Pesto Potatoes
• Assorted Fruit Salad
• Battenberg Cake
Meet at the Exchange at the corner of Rouse St & Bay St. Everyone will collect their gourmet picnic baskets and will walk together to the beach, where the beach pavilion will be waiting.
The Exchange is an active part of the Port Melbourne community, and as part of their ongoing relationship with Port Melbourne Primary School, they will be donating a percentage of sales from the picnic to the school.

We are one of the wine sponsors for Barwon Health's World's Longest Lunch on Friday the 16th of March. It will be held at Steampacket Gardens and will host over 250 guests. Each year, the wonderful event sees exceptional chefs and wineries come together to showcase local wines and regional produce in support of the community. This year, the popular event on Geelong's social calendar, will support the Kids Appeal Geelong; raising funds for a new kids rehabilitation centre for children and young people with traumatic brain injuries, stroke, spinal cord injuries and cerebral palsy.
We are proud to be able to donate to this cause.
The event has sold out - it usually sells out within minutes, but all of the details can be found by clicking here.
Our final event for the Melbourne Food and Wine festivities will be at Queenscliff Brewhouse on Friday the 23rd March, at the Regional Producers Dinner. Three of our finest wines will be matched to a five course degustation dinner held from 7.00pm - 11.00pm.
Our chief winemaker, Robin Brockett, will be attending to give a run down of our Scotchmans Hill 2016 Chardonnay, 2016 Pinot Noir and 2016 Late Harvest Riesling on the evening.
We are very excited to play a part in this.
We are particularly keen to try the dessert paired with our Late Harvest Riesling - it's teamed with figs from the chef's tree, house made honey ice-cream and Edmond's local honey. Yum!

We hope to see you at one of the events!
