Join the Summer Series at Scotchmans Hill
The Summer Series at Scotchmans Hill is launching Sunday 2nd December. The Summer Series showcases some of the region’s best musical talent for visitors to enjoy free live music amongst the wine, vines and sunshine.
The first date of the series will showcase local artist, and Scotchmans Hill vineyard hand, Alex Vaux-Miller and the 2010 Armitage Pinot Noir back vintage from the Cellar Door vault.
Alex, who headlined our Toast to the Coast entertainment, comes armed with a guitar, stomp box, tambourine and a mic. Turning to music in high school trying as a means to impress a girl, he found his love for music and it hasn't wavered since. Alex will bring fun and enjoyable tunes to wherever the courtyard. “Having worked at Scotchmans Hill for almost three years, it feels prefect to be playing at the cellar door,” he said.
Planted in 1998, our Armitage vineyard is a unique and exciting plantation. The vineyard takes from our rich volcanic soil and modern vinicultural methods to make a wine that is bold and stimulating to the taste.
“Our Armitage vineyard is special in that it is comprised of a mixture of three unique clones. From the first clone there are lifted, fragrant and elegant notes. The next is dark and rich with an excellent tannin. The last leads to great structure. When all the pieces come together it makes for a truly beautiful wine.” – Chief winemaker Robin Brockett
