Since our very first vintage in 1990 our commitment has been to make exceptional wine that excites and intrigues the palate.

James Halliday

James Halliday is the preeminent wine writer in Australia. Every year his annual wine companion is eagerly awaited by novice and experienced wine lovers alike as he rates both wines and wineries. Recognised early as 5-black star winery we have held the highest ranking as both a 5-red star and a red-named winery since 2009. This is the highest rating achievable and we are one of only 100 wineries to have garnered this honour. We are delighted to be held in such high esteem as recognition of our position as a leading winery in Australia.

 

The Melbourne Royal Wine Award

The Melbourne Royal Wine Awards is one of Australia’s oldest and most respected wine shows recognising and rewarding excellence in Australian winemaking. Scotchmans Hill is thrilled to announce that our soon to be released 2021 Scotchmans Hill was awarded
Best Victorian Shiraz & the prestigious Trevor Mast trophy for
Best Shiraz of Show.

The 2021 Scotchmans Hill Shiraz was also in the final top six wines in the country for the most prestigious wine trophy in Australia being the Jimmy Watson Trophy.

This is an incredible achievement by Robin Brockett, Marcus Holt and all the winemaking and viticulture team, and recognition of their passion and hard work in producing another exceptional vintage of cool maritime climate Shiraz.

Victorian Wine Show

This show is solely for Victorian wines and allows us to bench mark ourselves against other wines from within the state. This includes our 2018 and 2022 Trophy for Best Rose in Show.

Regional Wine Shows

Ballarat and Geelong Wine Shows – (smaller shows with entries mainly from the regions of Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, the Grampians and the Pyrenees)

These shows are a great opportunity to benchmark locally.

In 2022 Scotchmans hill was awarded Geelong Wine Show Trophy for the Best Chardonnay  2020 – Scotchmans Hill Cornelius Sutton Vineyard  Chardonnay and Trophy for the Most Successful Exhibitor
