2012 Sutton Vineyard Chardonnay
Mid golden. Rich nose showing multi layered complexity of peach, nectarine fruits, spice with creamy barrel ferment characters and nutty oak. Rich and intense with peach and nectarine fruits, spice, a hint of burnt match stick and cashew nut flavours. Well-structured wine balanced by minerality and great acidity with a long, lingering back palate.
The fruit was hand-picked at optimal ripeness, whole bunch pressed with the best juice run to barrel. Fermentation took place over 10 days by wild yeasts. Lees stirring every 3 to 4 weeks and the wine spent 16 months on lees in a mixture of new, one and two-year-old French oak barriques. Alcohol/Volume 13.5% | Drink now to 2025.
